During the hot summer nights of july, thousands of contemporary 'travels' get to the Castellazzo to be present at concerts of famous musical artists.
Festival di Vila Arconati is born in 1989, it's a musical and cultural project realized thanks to the collaboration among public administrations of Bollate, Arese, Garbagnate Milanese, province of Milan, property of the Villa and the supporters of the event.
From the experience of the Festival is born the Cultural Pole 'Insieme Groane' that mixes up, besides the administrations that have promoted the event during these years, public administrations of Lainate, Novate Milanese, Baranzate and the association Parco delle Groane. 'Insieme Groane' has been able to valorize other places (Villa Ricotti, Villa -Visconti-Litta, Corte Valenti, Teatro di Novate) and promote new cultural events.
The origin of the events is in 1985, year that see Villa Arconati open to the public for the first time to host concerts of classical music.
This classical music show will give space, in 1989, to the Festival di Villa Arconati that is characterized from the beginning for its originality.
During the years the event's playbill is getting fuller of some of the most prestigious name of national and international musical scene: Paolo Conte, Gino Paoli, Dizzy Gillespie, Miriam Makeba, Giorgio Gaber, i Chieftains, Ivano Fossati, Enzo Iannacci, Ry Cooder, Patti Smith, Ornella Vanoni, David Byrne, Fabrizio De Andrè, Vinicio Capossela, i Madredeus, Compay Segundo, Lucio Dalla, Franco Battiato, Carmen Consoli, Giorgia, Pino Daniele, Elisa, Jan Garbarek, Erykah Badu, Massimo Ranieri, Brad Meldhau, Fiorella Mannoia, Cassandra Wilson, Cesaria Evora, Moni Ovadia, Marco Paolini, Michael Bublè ... and many others.
Festival di Villa Arconati has become the most prestigious event of the summer in Milan.
